Los Bitchos: B*tches on the Loose!

Los Bitchos are back with Talkie Talkie, an exhilarating surf-rock journey infused with South American and Latin grooves. This London-based quartet—Serra Petale (Australia), Agustina Ruiz (Uruguay), Josefine Jonsson (Sweden), and Nic Crawshaw (UK)—blends their diverse backgrounds to create a genre-defying sound that’s impossible to ignore. Known for their bombastic energy and bold experimentation, Talkie Talkie marks a new high for the band, offering listeners an exciting escape into a musical world defined by women, where every track delivers something unexpected and fresh.

Describe ‘Los Bitchos’ in three words:
Agustina: 1000 inside jokes
Serra: Sassy, striking, sunny
Nic: Fun, frolic, fringe
Josefine: Sassy, deranged, extravaganza

What was the one album that made you want to make music?Agustina: I don’t know exactly which one, but End of the Century by the Ramones and obsessing over Spice by the Spice Girls when I was a kid were two big ones.
Serra: Spooky by Lush
Nic: OK Computer by Radiohead

What’s the most surreal, crazy, or comical thing that has happened during your time as a band?
Agustina: Everything!
Serra: The surreal moment was when we were listening back to one of the tracks. I’m guessing we liked what we heard because we ALL started dancing. Our producer Alex, our engineer Javier—everyone was shaking their ass and getting down. It was a beautiful moment.
Nic: We recorded ourselves slapping our own arses (jeans on!) all lined up in front of some mics to add to the hand claps, and it just sounded really good.
Josefine: There was one song where we strapped body percussion instruments to our good friend Kika and made her dance to the song in the studio while we recorded it. It turned out great and was hilarious to witness!

What’s the coolest gig you’ve ever played, and why?
Agustina: So many! A couple of years ago, we played at the Ryman in Nashville, supporting Belle & Sebastian, and that one will always be a standout for me.
Serra: Our first festival back last year was Latitude Festival (UK), and the vibe was so magical. Seeing a sea of little hand dances and feeling the joy of the crowd was simply the best.
Nic: Ooh, this keeps changing for me. We’re touring so much this year and having all these amazing, cool new experiences. At the moment, it’s the Paris show on our headline European tour in April. It was sold out and one of those shows where you feel like everyone in the room is behind you 100%. The sound was really, really good, and everything just came together.

What are some of your favorite guilty-pleasure songs?
Serra: Not that guilty about this one, but at the moment, it’s Mark Morrison’s Return of the Mack.
Nic: Alanis Morissette – You Oughta Know, Roxette – Joyride.
Josefine: Belinda Carlisle – Heaven Is a Place on Earth.

If a movie were made about ‘Los Bitchos’, what would it be called?
Agustina:
Don’t Step on My Schedule – Rene
Serra: Don’t Step on My Schedule: The Rene Schedule Story
Nic: Bitches on the Loose!
Josefine: Milady Palace
